# Your Telehealth Doctor Consultation: What to Expect

All Apex TRT consultations are conducted via telehealth. No clinic appointments, no waiting rooms, no referrals. Here's what to expect, from booking your initial consultation through to ongoing care and follow-up.

## When will I speak to a doctor?

Once your blood results and medical information have been reviewed, we'll let you know whether a doctor consultation about treatment is appropriate. If so, you can book a 15-minute phone consultation with an AHPRA-registered doctor.

If a doctor consultation isn't appropriate based on your initial assessment, you can instead book a call with one of our registered nurses to discuss your results and explore other options available to you.

Haven't done your blood tests yet? [Click Start Now](https://www.apextrt.com.au/blog/your-telehealth-doctor-consultation-what-to-expect?hs_amp=true#start) to complete your medical questionnaire and arrange your initial blood test.

## What does the doctor review before my call?

Your doctor reviews your medical questionnaire and blood test results before your consultation. Your results are sent directly to Apex TRT by the pathology provider, so your doctor has the information needed to discuss your health and treatment options.

Your results are reviewed before being released to you, allowing your consultation to focus on understanding your results, discussing your suitability for treatment and exploring treatment options available to you.

## Getting ready for your call

All you need is your phone and a quiet, private space. Most people take their call from home.

Your doctor will call you at your scheduled time from a private number, so please keep your phone nearby and ensure you're available to answer.

It's helpful to have any questions ready so you can make the most of your consultation. Your privacy is important to us, and your information is handled confidentially by the Apex TRT care team.

## What happens in your consultation?

Your doctor will:

- Talk through your medical history, lifestyle and current medications
- Explain your blood test results and what they mean for your health
- Assess your suitability for treatment and answer any questions you may have
- Outline a personalised treatment plan, if clinically appropriate
- Explain the next steps, including ongoing monitoring and follow-up

## What happens after your consultation?

If treatment is clinically appropriate and your doctor issues a prescription, your eScript will be sent directly to your phone. You can fill it at any participating Australian pharmacy.

Our care team can help with your blood results, prescriptions, receipts, nurse and doctor bookings, and support.

Once you begin treatment, your first follow-up takes place at week 10 and includes repeat blood tests and a review with one of our registered nurses.

At six months, you'll have a further comprehensive blood test and a doctor review, followed by ongoing six-monthly monitoring to support your progress and treatment.

## How do I reach someone between appointments?

You can contact the Apex TRT care team through your patient portal for general questions, appointment changes, bookings, prescriptions or treatment enquiries. Until your portal account is set up, please use our [contact page](https://www.apextrt.com.au/contact).

We aim to respond within one business day.

If your question needs clinical attention, we'll arrange the appropriate follow-up with a doctor or registered nurse.

If you're worried about your health right now, contact your GP, or call 000 in an emergency.
